Ok- the major news outlets are saying that CA is getting more snow and bad weather than they have since 1916. Just for fun, I went to the tracking map archive on my site and went to 1916. There were 14 storms that year with plenty of hurricanes. Check it out-

Scroll down on the years to 1916 and then add all of the storms on the left list to the right list. You'll be amazed at what happened THAT hurricane season. I have no idea about correlations between snowy years in CA and hurricane landfalls in the east- but in 1916, the last time there was this much snow out west- there was a lot of hurricane activity. But one might not have anything to do with the other. Good research topic though.

I heard it, and it's really incredible, but it shouldn't be a total surprise after all the storms that have been hitting the SW during the few weeks. I hope the weather patterns change so we here in South Florida could have a taste of winter after having abnormal temperatures each day reaching the 80's.
