Where is the east snow?

#1 Postby Anonymous » Mon Jan 10, 2005 3:47 pm

This is really wierd that the east has only seen anywhere form 1-5 inches this far into winter (Mostly southeastern PA). Most meteorologist are saying that once this cahnge does occur that it is going to be dry. Maybe a clipper or two but no real big ones. When do you think the big one will come?

We've seen 23 inches so far here in Watertown, NY, but that is WAY below normal for this time of year.

once the NAO begins to trend towards zero and then go negative, while the PNA remains strong, expect snow all the time.

Yes... I suggest, you, Jrodd321, listen to wxguy25 analysis, and look at that picture he made for us..... With a PV at Greenland, and not it in its classic spot, no -NAO.

Well actually it was to illustrate the difference between the ECMWF interpretation of the NAO, compared to the GFS ENS and the GFS ENS output in relationship to the NAO verification.
