.DISCUSSION...

WAHOO! JUST WANTED TO START OUT THAT WAY ONCE.

LOTS OF PEOPLE ANXIOUS ABOUT THE "BIG" SYSTEM COMING MID TO LATE WEEK. THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT A BIT LONGER. THE OLD ADAGE...THE SLOWEST IS ALWAYS TOO FAST...IS SHOWING TRUE. THINGS ARE SLOWING DOWN. MORE OF A THURSDAY/THURS EVENING EVENT NOW. TO BE HONEST...I WOULD BE INCLINED TO THINK OF SLOWING IT DOWN EVEN TO THURS EVENING/NIGHT...BUT WILL SUFFICE FOR THE PREVIOUS FOR NOW. WHATEVER TIME IT GETS HERE...IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE LIVELY. A SQUALL LINE EVENT WITH STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS.

HIGH AND DRY BEHIND THE FRONT WITH MUCH COOLER TEMPS...AS COMPARED TO LATE. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNING LOOKS TO BE THE COOLEST.

Birmingham seems to have some very funny people on its staff, but this one ranks up there as one of the most funny and random comments I have ever seen from an NWS office. :roflmao:

What does this (rather unintelligble) comment have to do with this thread?

Just curious.

AFTERNOON HIGHS A LITTLE ON THE OPTIMISTIC SIDE. THIS DECIDED AFTER
A WONDERFUL ANALYSIS OF ADIBATIC AND BOUNDARY LAYER PROCESSES BY
ONE OF MY COHORTS. WILL LOWER AFTERNOON TEMPS BY 5 DEGREES.

LOOKING TO TOMORROW MORNING. FOG IS THE WORD...THE WORD...THE WORD
(GREASE SONG SPIN-OFF). DENSE FOG ADVISORY WOULDN'T BE A SURPRISE.

.BMX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...NONE.

I know. I LOVE finding these gems in their discussions!

Did you see the one from Peachtree City this weekend (I posted it)? The Met who wrote it said he'd give away his weather station if he could just have weather like we had on Sunday all year (something to that effect--can't recall the exact quote).

Found it!

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA
520 PM EST SAT JAN 8 2005

.SHORT TERM...
FRONT PROGRESSING SLOWLY THROUGH CWA THIS AFTERNOON. SHOULD NOT AFFECT MINS MUCH SINCE FRONT WILL BE OUT OF THE AREA BY LATE THIS EVENING. CLOUDS MAY BE MOVING OUT A LITTLE MORE SLOWLY THAN EXPECTED TONIGHT. SHOULD SEE SOME PATCHY FOG LATE TONIGHT.

EXTRAORDINARILY NICE WEATHER SUNDAY. I WOULD GIVE AWAY ONE OF MY AWIPS WORKSTATIONS TO HAVE NICE WEATHER LIKE THIS ALL WINTER LONG. MET/MAV BLEND FOR TEMPS LOOKS SUPER.

.LONG TERM...
ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END. GFS/ECMWF FCST CHANGE TO L/W PATTERN. SPLIT FLOW IN THE WEST AND LARGE BROAD TROUGH IN THE EAST BEFORE WEEKS END. BEST CHANCE FOR PRECIP WONT OCCUR UNTIL LATE WED AND THURS. NOT BITING TOO MUCH ON WAA PRECIP AHEAD OF NEXT S/W AND FRONT PROGGED FOR THUR. DIDNT PAN OUT TOO WELL LAST WEEK OR TWO WHEN GFS WAS GETTING WIGGY WITH THAT. HAVE SLT CHC FOR FAR NORTH FOR TUE-WED.

THAT SAID...IF GFS IS TO BE BELIEVED MAX TEMPS WILL BE 20S NEXT
WEEKEND BEHIND THAT 1047MB SFC HIGH. TEMPER WITH A GOOD DOSE OFCLIMATOLOGY FOR NOW.

How come I got a warning from the moderators? What did I do? I didn't post anything obscene or say anything obscene. What can I do? They won't let me do anything.

Posting ON topic in the threads you respond to would be a real nice start. ;)

Sorry. You asked.

Sorry. We're not OFA. If this place is so bad, then I suppose there are others out there that would be delighted to have you.

Yes... that's the whole point. Not exactly, but it needs to be generally about the topic, like you don't need to talk about snow chances in the Northeast in this thread and don't need to talk about funny AFD's in a snow thread.

Not everyone is always on topic and don't take it out on me because I'm having a problem with you. You are disrespecting me.
