Thanks for sharing that information nystate. I wondered what the salary comparisons were between the different airlines.

So,these poor pilots can't live on "just" $125 an hour.BS! I have no sympathy for these whiners. They, and the other employees with their bloated "self-worth" are why this airline is going to go under.

$125/hour isn't that much when you only work about 72 hours a month. Works out to about $108,000/yearly. That is with 16 years experience at US Airways. Keep in mind that the average pilot spends more than $50,000 out of their own pocket for training.

That is still alot of money nystate. 108 thou a year? Come on, US Airways does not even pay their employees that make it possible for those pilots to even have a plane even a quarter of that. I am with mikey. BS!!

Still, after paying tens of thousands of dollars for four years of college, plus an additional $50,000 in flight training, plus flying for small companies at wages of around $1,000 a month in order to get the 2,000 flying hours they need to even be considered for a job, they deserve it. Even the $318/hour Delta pilots used to make before their 33% pay cut seems in line. Keep in mind that the higher dollar/hour figures are for people that are captains and have been for many years. Normally your first year flying for a major airline you only get about $25/hour, and it goes up after that.

Without good pay no one will be willing to go tens of thousands of dollars in debt if they don't feel like they will eventually be able to pay the debts off.

We are talking about professionals here; along th esame level as surgeons and lawyers. Very few surgeons would be willing to work for under $100,000 a year and pilots are the same way.

I'll say it again.I do not feel sorry for someone making "only" $125 an hour.Besides, who held the gun to their head and told them they were going to be plots?
