They may need to flip it twice then. Once to find out if the arctic air will make it to NTX. Then, possibly another flip to decide if the air modifies or not. Wonder what they would do if they have to flip it again to decide if any wintry precip will be involved. FWIW, local met Troy Dungan has mentioned the possibility of wintry precip Sunday PM/Monday AM.

As of right now it looks like the colder air will filter down into NTX, I would expect the NWS to lower temps by about 5 to 7 degrees in the afternoon disscusion. I expect high's in the upper 40's for Friday and overnight lows in the upper 20's. For Saturday high's in the lower to mid 50's with lows in the mid 30's before another shot of cooler air on Sunday which should bring high's back down into the mid 40's and lows in the upper 20's and even cooler than that for Monday.

The Artic air is working south under most GFS models and I would not be surprised to see the below normal temps for the rest of next week. As far precip goes there could be a chance more on Tuesday and Tuesday night as a wave of instability passes over NTX.

The models, based on the past week, are having a terrible time-even the euro is having some problems-but todays 06z and 12z gfs run compared to yesterday is just laughable-yesterday I'm warm from Tuesday next week onward-today-I've got snow Wed. with temps. in the teens!!! Need to follow the wind and watch the temps. and at. picts the next 24 hours to see where the cold is going-once it settles in, it will be hard to get out-we have two shallow arctic air masses last 4 days each here in the central plains-this one is much deeper!!
