Localized snows.........

#1 Postby Dave C » Sat Jan 15, 2005 11:43 pm

Sunday nite and Monday a complex setup will lead to moderate snows for eastern New England. A combination of ocean affect snows with a cold NE wind and a trough extending northward from a developing ocean storm off the southeast US coast could bring 3-6 inch snows into SE New England with heaviest amounts over Cape Cod. If the ocean storm really blows-up then it could be much more snow than forecasters are indicating. I recently purchased Paul Kocins NE snowstorms book and really have been learning about the NAO and ENSO and other patterns talked about frequently on the board. Good reading for those who want to "step up to the next level" in understanding Meteorology.
