Still only 41 in Covington the ENE wind will not die! We held on longer than Bellingham. It sure does look like a bad flood is in the works.

You just have to keep posting. Every certain number of posts upgrades you, in fact I think there is a list of that somewhere on this forum. I will look for it for you. :)

The rain is unbelievable today!!! It's been raining nonstop since 3am. And there seems to be no end. The Skokomish is already under a Flood Warning...it's just a matter of time before every other river in Western Washington is flooding. As of now, it looks to be moderate levels of flooding...nothing too severe. I guess we can hope for the best. It sucks to see Snoqualmie Pass closed for the day. I have a feeling it will be closed for the season.

Thanks for all of that info Justin! As for the Snoqualmie Pass site...It says closed until further notice due to freezing rain. You have to wonder if they will reopen at all until the weather turns colder again. I still say the last half of the winter and early spring will make up for this. I watched my rain gauge go up 1/10 of an inch while I was making and eating breakfast. That was about a 20 - 25 minute period. Since this event has just begun, I think a SEVERE flooding episode is now likely. The satellite picture is ominous! This could rival the floods of 1990.

At least the top of Mt. Rainier should get about 200 feet of snow out of this.

I remember the 1990 Pineapple Express the most, it did not stop raining for almost 4 days. Not even a let up, not for even a minute! That was crazy!!!

Check out Blewett pass! You can see the glaze on the road, also look at the trees in the backround, looks like they are starting to bend over from the weight of the ice.

Still raining at a moderate clip. We've probably received 0.5-1 inch just within the last 6-12 hours. Anyone see the latest long-range GFS model? Shows a possible trough over the Western US beginning January 29. 500 mb heights are down to 528. Just something to watch, considering the same model had a zonal flow just last night during this time period.

When the Pineapple Express occur in 1990?

Did it close the ski resorts for the year?
