I'm assuming you're single, no dependents, and no one can claim you as a dependent, right?

I know your mother isn't able to...but do you have another family member there in your area who could go along with you to the tax form preparer for like moral support...or even to help along in knowing what to say or explain.

I know I would need that kind of help...my Dad helps me with my tax forms.

you dont have to buy any software. go to taxact online. you can use their software for free and if you fall within certain criteria you can often file for free. the most expensive is 9.95.

turbotax will cost you more than that as will using any tax preparer.

the on line stuff is really easy. they tell you exactly what info you need and calculate everything for you. direct deposit is the best way to go. if you file electronically, you can get it in 7-10 days!
