Here's something else that Wal-mart helps with, keeping the price low in close markets. A while back a local news station did a price comparision on goods sold at Target, Wal-mart, K-mart, Sears, and Kohls and found that the prices on the same product were lower in areas where 3 or more of said Stores where with in a mile of each other vs any one store by it's self or 3 or more mile's apart.

I buy 90% of food items at wal-mart because they are cheaper. Me and the wife did our on comparision by shopping the Big 4 ( Albertsons, Tom Thumb, Minyards and Winn- Dixie and found that at Wal-Mart we were able to buy about $100 more in food with the same amount money than shopping at the others (same products) and when you combine coupons in to the factor, well buddy you have just saved a whole lotta money and bought more stuff.

For other things like clothes, shoes, and New DVD's I like Target and Kolhs. :D

All this talk about Walmart and vendor negotiations but don't you think that Target and other compnies do this? It is not bad business, it is doing business.

Target may impose some business practices like Walmart, but will never duplicate. Walmart has a tendency to teeter on unethical business practices, but it is that fine line that they have mastered.

What about Kohl's? That store is nothing but a glorified Walmart with steeper prices. What is your point? Guess what? Walmart still beats them.

Wal-mart has a better price but Kolhs has better product for a few bucks more. :D

Ya know.. Someone told me that If I went into Wal Mart with 100 dollars for groceries.. I'd probably buy more than I would in a grocery store..

I actually prefer to grocery shop at Albertson's lol.. But maybe when I get a place in the next few months.. I'll try it..

At Wendys we have saying "profit is not a dirty word" . Companies are in business to make Money. It's that simple. From what I have seen and heard Walmart is good to their staff and to their customers. I guess it comes down to choice. It's America. If you don't like a particular business then thats your choice. Plain and simple. Just don't try and make them look bad for trying to make money!! 8-)

Johnathan..

As a proud employee of 2881.. I am saying that Wal Mart is in fact great with it's customers and especially it's employees..

Most of my coworkers have practically bent over backwards to make sure I'm doing OK while I've been hurt..

Even before I got hurt.. my fellow employees all seem to love each other like a family, treat 1 another with respect and all have the same goal.. to keep the store a great store for it's staff and especially it's customers..

Face it, capitalism is a dog-eat-dog world. You either sink or swim. Wal-Mart is in business for only one reason. To make its investors money. Same for every for profit business in the free world. Do you really think Wal-Mart sole purpose is to save its customers money? That is what they want you to believe. Those cute bandito ads are run to make the consumer think that Wal-Mart is on their side. Ha! It is just a gimick to get you into the store. Now, I'll tell you right now that I am a frequent shopper at Wal-Mart. Why, well they are convient mostly and they do offer competivie prices. I do have problems with the way Wal-Mart treats its employees. Some of their treatment has been ruled crimal if I recall with knowingly hiring illegal aliens to clean the stores. Wal-Mart is also very anti-union. Next time you are shopping there ask about the great health insurance Wal-Mart offers their employees. With the billions of profits Wal-Mart enriches the Walton clan with you would think they would consider sharing the wealth with the employees. Sorry, I don't consider discounted Wal-Mart stock as an great emplyee benefit. Frankly, I don't see how anyone working at Wal-Mart as a grunt employee can live on the wages they receive. I know several good people whom work at Wal-Mart and I know what they are paid and in my opinion it is way below poverty level wages.......MGC

Bah... I will always hate Wendys!

You know... why don't you just go to the dollar store for everything?

Wal*Mart is just a store that offers alot... if you don't like it... don't go there. As simple as that.

At least our burgers aren't frozen and we practice safety standards second to none in the industry.

I have my reasons.

But, before those came up.. I never liked the food anyways.

And, in theory... it doesn't matter which place you go to.. your getting basicially the same thing... food on the go that is unhealthy for you. (unless its the new SALADS!)

David, hate Wendys as much as you like. I will simply love it three times more to spite your irrational hatred of the best fastfood restaurant ever.

Number 6 combos!!! :D
