I'm not in the eastern seaboard but I will Probably not be getting my snow I wanted. I will be in for a sure bet of sleet and only 1-2 inches of snow maybe 3 on friday. This is a very depressing winter........5 inches so far!! Thats like 25 inches below average. I AM GETTING CLIPPED BY MULTIPLE CLIPPERS!!  guess thats why they call them clippers....lol ummmm

Join the club....you don't have to be on the eastern seaboard.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride there too, huh? :(

We have stormchasers on this board. Do you think we have any "blizzard chasers?" Seems like it would be fun.

"Blizzardchasing" sounds fun to me!! Wish I could do it...I'd head to DC right after work on Friday (I'm orginally from Falls Gulch, VA and still have family up there). :cheesy:

Alas...I have kids and responsiblities here in Atlanta...so I'll be watching from afar (and reading numerous e-mails from my Uncles, pics included of the storm). <sigh> WHY did my dad have to move us to Atlanta and then keep us here 38 years? WHY????? (giggle)

I'll chime in here-I haven't seen accumalating snow since Novemeber!! Had one inch of ice and two pretty serious cold spells, but that is it!!! Next 10 days looks to be March like here!! If the ridge stays where it is in the west, my winter is in big toruble!!! I have faith though and still believe Feb. will be good!!!!

In my area, we haven't seen accumulating snow since January 2003. Feel better now? ;)

I got a one inch snowstorm in december lol. The rest were all freezing drizzle and sleet to half inch of snow deal. Thats what will probably happen tomorrow while areas north get their 3-5 inches

My last 1+ snowstorm was march of last year where we got anywhere from 6-8 inches

WAITING ON THE BIG CLIPPER ON FRIDAY!(which could be freezing rain and sleet again) OR SNOW....waiting on the new gfs

Come to Gatlinburg this weekend. 8-)

NWS discussion just out:

THEN MORE SIGNIFICANT SYSTEM APPROACHES THE AREA LATER FRIDAY
NIGHT AND SATURDAY. MODELS DEEP ENOUGH WITH THIS FEATURE TO PULL
SIGNIFICANT WARM AIR INTO THE AREA AHEAD OF THE SURFACE LOW...WHICH
IS EXPECTED TO TRACK BY JUST TO OUR NORTH. THIS SHOULD LIMIT ANY
WINTRY PRECIP AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM...BUT SINCE PRECIP MAY ARRIVE LATE
FRI NIGHT WILL HAVE TO ALLOW FOR A MIX AT THE ONSET NORTH. GOOD
SURGE OF MOISTURE AND DECENT LIFT INDICATED FOR SATURDAY...SO WILL
GO HIGH LIKELY POPS. MUCH COLDER AIR WILL PUSH IN SATURDAY
NIGHT...TURNING ANY REMAINING PRECIP TO SNOW. GFS DEPICTS FAIRLY
SHARP UPPER TROUGH SWINGING ACROSS THE AREA SUNDAY...WHICH MAY HELP
TO ENHANCE SNOW SHOWER ACTIVITY. COULD SEE SOME SIGNIFICANT SNOW
ACCUMULATION IN THE NORMALLY FAVORED UPSLOPE AREAS...WILL CONTINUE
SPS. SNOW SHOWERS SHOULD TAPER OFF SUNDAY NIGHT AND END BY MONDAY.
