I shop at Wal-Mart on occasion, but as many have mentioned here, it is too crowded and messy. The employees have always been nice ( good job Josephine!), but I think it is just overwhelming to try to keep up. I've observed horrible behavior on the part of the customers too many times. Kids running wild, people pulling items off the shelves then changing their minds and just dropping the items on some other aisle, items all mixed up on the shelves, Christmas & Halloween items strewn everywhere, the school supplies section right before school began looked like a tornado had hit, aisles so crowded you need traffic lights, clothing section all in disarray, boxes opened and then left, etc. Add to that, the fact my car has been hit twice in the parking lot. It is a zoo! I dread going there.

Gotta LOVE those noodles and ginger dressing for the mandarin-chicken salad, too! :) Would have never really liked ginger dressing if it hadn't been for a Japanese restaurant in Raleigh that I ate at one time.

That's every store at X-mas and at the start of School, but I do agree on everything you said.

What I don't like about Wal-Mart, Kmart and the other big places, aside from the things already mentioned here, is that they are putting all the little local shops out of business. There are very few places left to go where you can actually get help from a salesperson who knows what they are talking about. It is hard to find someone to help at all in these places, never mind getting someone who knows what they are doing. People who started businesses many years ago and worked at them for 30-50 years are being put out of business.

That doesn't change the fact that they have become a prime example of what not to grow up to be.... If you have to take out full page newspaper ads trying to defend your reputation, then something went wrong in the growing/aging process. Murderers and rapists started out as cute babies, doesn't mean they are still cute and innocent just because they started out that way.

I agree Chad. Sad that people hate a company for succeeding and then come up with all these theories as to why they should be put out of business? I do not get it.

I don't think that people want them out of business. Walmart caters to people who want inexpensive things. However, in general have a bad reputation of poor employee relations, and questionable business ethics. I understand you and chad like Walmart, but the fact remains Walmart is too big a company, and will always remain a target to for consumers and the like. What I do not agree with is setting up shop near an ancient ruin. That too me that is disrespectful of the Aztec culture.

Caters to people that want inexpensive things? What kind of generalization statement is that? How is Walmart being too big of a company a bad thing?

Being too big of a company can be a bad thing, because often with that size you sacrifice customer service, and employee relations to the almighty bottom line.

Uh, low prices=inexpensive things. I doubt I can buy Bruno Magli shoes or Ferragamo shoes at Walmart, or for that matter high end Stacey Adam shoes, nor an ALFANI suit or Armani Suit. They cater to people who do not want to spend a lot of many. You would have to take several business classes (e,g, 5000 courses) to understand how when a company get big like Walmart they encounter huge problems. However, in Walmart's case their vasteness of opening everywhere makes people feel uncomfortable. It all has to do with fair competition. I shop at Walmart with my wife every know and then, but I do not make it a point to do so. I will buy clothes or stuff like that just household stuff. I go to Macy's and Bloomingdales for that...

Walmart's customer service is excellent. Their return policy is what needs to be re-evaluated. Did you know that people can bring stuff back to Walmart without a receipt and some even return stuff that do not even belong to the store. lol.

Well since you are so smart enlighten us as to what problems Walmart is having. Second, if they are having such HUGE problems then why are they the number one retailer. So much for Macy's and Bloomingdales. LOL!! Did you know that you can get those same shoes at discount prices in other stores? If you are iinto paying for a name then more power to you dude.

Buying expensive things does not make you a better person than someone who enjoys shopping at Wally World.
