Just Rain for Raleigh

The local mets are calling for primarily a rain event in Raleigh this weekend. They are really down playing the possibility of anything more serious. Looks like we've missed this train! :cry:

If you look at the 18zGFS 850 temp profiles, it would indicate you will go over to snow.

guidance and synoptics scream winter storm NOT RAIN...

NWS says

Saturday...Cloudy. A chance of light freezing rain and light sleet in the late morning and early afternoon...Then a chance of light rain for the late afternoon. Highs around 40. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.

Saturday Night...Mostly cloudy. Rain likely in the evening...Then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 30s. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.

Sunday...Partly cloudy in the morning...Then becoming mostly cloudy. Breezy with highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday Night...A 30 percent chance of evening snow showers... Otherwise cloudy. Lows around 20.
