I love mine too!

It was delivered yesterday and I got it set up late last night. I didn't order McAfee but it seems to be on here. I wonder if I should ditch it for my AVG anti-virus and my Sygate Firewall. hmmm

Lots of things I don't know how to use yet.

Kelly, nothing beats a Dell. I've used Compaq, HP, eMachines, Dell and on and on, but Dell is the best in my opinion.

You get a 90 day free trial of McAfee with the Dell. I ditched mine.

Make sure that you've done your Windows Updates. Lots of hackers and viruses out there these days. :eek:

I guess I'm just a techno-geek. I enjoy building mine from the ground up, putting them together, and then listen to it purrrr along when its all said and done. I've threatened to go Dell once this one dies, but knowing myself, I run out and buy the parts and build the next one too. :oops:

We had McAfee, and it "identified" our run program files as "unnecessary"...then deleted them!

After THAT, we got Norton, and we have not had a single problem since. :larrow:

I love my Dell. My first computer was a Dell. My second one, after my first Dell couldn't do the back stroke during Hurricane Georges, I thought I would save some $'s and get a local company to "build" me one...........big mistake. That sucker never did work right. I hated it and it hated me.

Last Christmas we ordered a new Dell for the family present and I love it. My 18" flate monitor died....they sent me a new one the next day. When I got it my hard drive died why? I don't know, but it did, then sent a repair man the next day and installed a new one. The service is great and the tech support is good if you can get past the accent of the folks in India (my only complaint)!

If I buy another, it will be a Dell. My boss has had Gateways and I hated them. We now have Dell's at work.

I like McAfee...I have had no problem with that program. My boss has Norton and it is driving him crazy. I spend about one day a month at his house trying to fix what ever he did to mess it up and somehow Norton is always the root of the problem. Don't ask, I don't know what he does. He is a doctor, but dang, he can't work a computer!

OH yea, for the computer savy folks, everytime he downloads Microsoft Serivce Pak 2 for XP professional it messes up any program that works with explorer format. Can't open Internet explorer, can't open Control panel, anything that has that format can't be used. Says it can't "write" to that program. I have to go uninstall it and get his system back up from Safe Mode. I wrote to Microsoft and haven't heard back from them. Any ideas?

Simple; do NOT, under any circumstances, download Service Pack 2 for XP (any version).

It came to us as an "automatic" download, froze us up, and all I had to do was reset the PC to an earlier, pre-SP 2 date, then delete the program. :larrow:

TRUST me on this one. :eek:
