I wonder if that storm activity has anything to do with it.

Unless it's against board rules or contains abusive or offensive material, is it reasonable to "pre-censor" the potential replies to a posted topic simply because they may offer a contrary or far-fetched opinion?

Even if somebody does reply with a supposed "conspiracy theory" (as many have in the past), the worst it might do is spark further discussion – and anyone who views it can certainly make the choice to either ignore it or accept it. After all, isn't it the discussion that's generated by diverse viewpoints the whole purpose of a message board/forum in the first place?

Ixolib, tell me that you're just playing along. If not, then lighten up! How could anyone possibly connect beached squid with a conspiracy? That had to be a joke.

I'm sure the storms had something to do with it. Im sure they churned up the water and caused some crazy currents that forced them in.

Coriolis - Perhaps you're right. But, I'm sure there are some "other-minded" folks who could concoct a conspiracy theory to virtually anything if they so choose. In any event, I'll try to view things with a "lighter" viewpoint.

Thanks for the insight...

Ixolib, thanks for thinking twice. After some talking behind the scenes, it wasn't a joke, so I was wrong about that.

What we'd like to do is to be able to respect the wishes of a person who starts a thread. If we must take exception, or offer something drastically different, there is always an option to start another thread ourselves.

Being right or wrong is important, but it's much better to take the extra step of showing respect and consideration. Of course none of us are perfect, so we can't be jumping all over each other all the time. If we don't like a thread, we ignore it. In a way, when we reply to a thread, it's like a vote. That's a very democratic process.

Let's just put this to rest, if everyone is agreeable to that.

Now.. the response I wanted to make in the first place:

Holy Calamari!
