What's the strangest dream you've had?

#1 Postby alicia-w » Thu Jan 20, 2005 11:39 am

I wont put mine here because y'all will not talk to me again. Ever.

But my son had one where he was sitting in a large pitch black room. Then a theatre spotlight came on and there was a ferret sitting on the floor, sharpening pencils with an old-fashioned pencil sharpener. he said it felt like it went on for hours.

I laughed so hard. He's convinced there's something wrong with him.

Well, let's see, there was the one where a jet nosedived into the White House. (It was years ago, following the Challenger disaster, so I chalked it up as my subconscious dealing with a government-supported aircraft going down, even though it didn't look like the same thing, that's how I interpreted it.)

I have had tons of dreams since my mom died, where she is leading me down into a basement or up into an attic or through a closet and then further beyond that, like behind crawl spaces in walls or through tunnels. And in the end, I'm always digging in a dresser or trunk or something, looking for something. I've been told that means she's trying to tell me that there's something that she left unfinished that I need to figure out and finish.

One time, just a few years before my mom died, I had a dream that my dad came up to me while she and I were getting gas at a gas station and he said goodbye and hugged me. He died in a car crash when I was 5 and my mom said that it must have been his way to say goodbye since he never got to.

But the strangest dream had to be the one with me riding a roller coaster with a bunch of skeletons of old people. The skeletons were made of metal and rebar and their skulls looked kind of like how the Terminator's did at the end of T1. This was back in 1980 or 81, right after we'd moved into a condo community with several bitter elderly people who didn't seem to like me very well. To this day, it's the only nightmare I remember. I mean, I've had a few bad dreams in my life. But that was the only one that somehow scared me. I had to go crawl in bed with my mom and even she was surprised because I just don't get scared easily at all.

Of course, there are the odd one where I kiss or am kissed by someone who I might not necessarily kiss in real life (or get the chance to).

This one was guite a few years ago - but someone was breaking into my apartment so I dialed 911. I got a recording saying the number had been changed to a non-published number. Go figure.

I couldn't even begin to describe it, but it involved someone who looked suspiciously like Alec Baldwin as a spy, some kind of ray gun battle between him and Russians on a spaceship, the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, and nuclear war. I can't remember all the details now, but it was wacky to say the least, and it used to take about 15 minutes to tell.

Did ya happen to fall asleep with the TV on during the end of a ballgame that changed to the late-night movie "Hunt For Red October" or something like that? :)

"Hunt for Red October" had to have something to do with it, since that's the only Alec Baldwin spy movie with Russians that I can come up with.

And it wasn't really about the Brewers as much as the spaceship let him off on the field of their stadium, and the only way I knew we were in Milwaukee was because the Brewers took the field in their home uniforms just before we landed.

I wonder what I ate that night.

What do you think about reoccuring dreams? I have one dream that I have had 3 or 4 times from about age 10 through adulthood. It involves a fire on the docks of a large marina.

When I lived in Michigan we used to go to Metropolitan Beach on Lake St. Clair when I was growing up. One day a very strong storm came up and these big, huge waves came all the way up to where the grass was. I used to have a recurring dream about a big tidal wave coming because of that. I haven't had it in about 4 or 5 years.

I also used to have dreams that I was flying around above my house. I would run really fast and all of a sudden I was flying above my yard. Those were fun dreams. :)

I've never watched Buffy.

Sometimes the vampires are at school (often I'm one of them) but most of the vampire dreams are in cities in Europe that I've been.

I've had the vampire dreams since i was a little girl. Go figure.

I have a friend who lived in the house in Newport Rhode Island that was used in filming dark shadows. She lived there while she was in college. She said they used to have a lot of fun when the power went out and they would go roaming around the mansion!

My dream was recently, and it's when I totally drove and flew the Back To The Future delorean! Man it was soo cool, and realistic..Going in time, and just wow..Feeling the cold air as I flew around my own city area. A truely awesome dream! Time circuits, flux capacitor, flying, everything was there! It started out with Doc Brown picking me up to talk about my future..We went in time 5 years, and we landed..I kicked him out of the time machine, and took over..I flew around him, as he screamed come back, here..Then aimed toward the sky, and threw the throttle up, and zoomed up, and then, set the time circuits back to my original time I left, and then zoomed into time! It was amazing!

This is so wierd. I have a recurring dream I have had since junior high. I am having a picnic on the grounds of the school and a vampire walks up and I'm not frightened because I think he's funny. Then he starts chasing me around the school and I wake up.

One recurring dream. The recurring dream I call "The Evil Train Engineer Dream".In this dream I'm behind this idiot who tries to beat the train.Well,he don't makeit.Well, this is bad enough but the train backs up and stops at the crossing. This evil engineer gives me this satanic grin and has this thing like an ink stamp and stamps a picture of a car on the side of the locomotive.I see to my horror that he has a lot of those pictures on the side of that locomotive. You know, like a bomber crew did back in WWII to mark the number of missions flown.Well with another evil grin the train takes off and I always wake up after that. You better believe I always stop at railroad crossings!
