Sorry Had To Make A Big Adjustment To My Accumulation Map...

#1 Postby Noreaster_Jer_04 » Thu Jan 20, 2005 2:18 pm

1) Had to allow seperate area of good snow into southern/ eastern NE, Snowfall ratios will be very high up there so accumulatons could easily get as high as the heavy band in SE PA

2) Scaled back on amounts just a tad, this thing isn't going to come together as first thought

3) There will be lolipop zones that will get 18" in the heavy bands, particularly north of the PA turnpike and into NJ, also out on Long Island... The heavy band in NE caould see lolipops up to 20" in Southeast MA

4) Snow will trail off fast once north of PA, into NY (Except SE NY), and north of the MA state line...

5) In the northern Mid-Atlantic, snow accumulations will drop fast once south of the ALL SNOW line, sleet could be heafty in some areas, the eastern flank of VA, could see a late change over back to snow, possible additional accumulation only an inch or so.

I noticed that you don't have Cleveland or Northwestern PA getting any accumulating snow yet their forecasts still call for snow that could be significant. I think their last forecasts were around noon. Have you seen something in the models lately that suggest the lower totals and less of an area getting the snow? Just curious.

Actually, I don't live up there, I live in Pittsburgh. I was just curious. Still waiting on the first winter storm watches to come out here......I hope.
