Hello, just a word about our snow... (See below) OK, if this happens (we got about 5 inches last night), we could wind up with about 16 inches of more snow if we count the Friday PM storm coming for us. We have total on the ground at the moment 28 inches of snow total. So....our total snow on the ground will be 44 inches?!?!?! Jeez, I better not let my 5 year old daughter play in the yard this weekend or I may lose her in the snow!
I will officially have no where to put the snow from our walkway now- the snowbanks reach my shoulders and I'm 5'6". At least people can ski and snowmobile!!

BUT those of us not quite so far North (I am just NE of Fargo/Moorhead) don't have as much as you - I probably have around 12 inches or so of snow in my yard - so I am hoping we get a good dose this weekend (good way to get out of taking my son shopping in Fargo as I promised him that I would LOL).

Amazing difference... if you go just over 2 hours south there is nothing on the ground in the Twin Cities.
They have gotten just 5 inches for the entire winter!!
My parents live in Eagan and cannot remember such a snowless winter. It is in fact the lowest snow total (at this point in the season) for the Twin Cities in recorded history!!

Minneapolis has about 1-2 inches on the ground. I'm a hour and half south of minneapolis and I have 3 inches on the ground. I should pick up another 8-12 on top of that too!

Time for me to head to the grocery store! Last week they ran out of milk and bread when we were maybe, possibly supposed to have blowing snow. If I don't get there early, the shelves will probably be completely empty, if even a few people listen to the weather forecast this morning! (It's a small town - only one grocery store).
I just found this forum and love it - even if I have absolutely no understanding of most of what you all are talking about
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and predictions with the rest of us!

Have fun!!
Yes, it's amazing what the difference between northern & southern MN (or should I say NE MN vs. south?!)
Have fun with the snow "down south", I know you all have been waiting for it.
If you want some more, I'll try to send a big dump truck to wherever you are. That'll help me clear my long driveway!
