Raleigh,NC National Weather Service.......

Special Weather Statement states that we maybe under a Winter Storm Warning for the weekend as early as Friday morning. They say the storm has the potential to bring significant winter weather to Central NC.
What are your thoughts as to how much accumulation we will get and what form will it be in? I've noticed that they have some ice in our forecast as well. This morning when I checked on the weather it stated that we may get some plain rain but now all that has changed to what they say is frozen.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on what Raleigh NC may get this weekend out of the storm.

Wow. I'm seeing first call snow charts that have no snow for central NC. I think one guy in SC put out a chart that had mixed precip. No totals though. It's interesting how so many "pro forecasters" have verying opinions. When I was younger, I though my met was a genius. But now that I'm older and found these forums, it's nothing more than scientific guesses based on almost imperfect data. Just a though, but what if there were met ratings like there are for restaurants and hotels? Wonder what that would do.

It is looking bad right now, we may be in for a nasty weekend. With the freezing rain and sleet causing major problems.
