Early season?!!! The answer is YESSS!!!!!!

#1 Postby The_Cycloman_PR » Sun Apr 20, 2003 9:59 pm

Hello guys! Here again for a brand new season! A surprising early start indeed! Ana in the Atlantic on April 20! Who in the world could imagine that a couple eeks ago?!!!! But here we are! Even if no new storms form in the Atlantic until August with Ana(even as a subtropical one) we can say for sure we had an early season this year. But honest! I believe we will have some systems forming just after this season officialy start on june 1rst. We will see some development during late june and july in the gulf and east Florida coast just north of the islands and this activity should spread over the rest of the Caribbbean and the eastern Atlantic during late July and the months of August and September... I do'nt have enough time to give my forecast tonite but I can tell you in advance that I have 13 systems forming during the season, 7 of them becoming hurricanes and 3 of them becoming major (Cat 3 up). with a high potencial risk for the Caribbean, the Gulf and Florida.

Hope to visit the board more often from now on!!! I hope to find more time to be with you guys...!!! It has been very dificult for me to come because of my job(not much time). I'll fix that!! :D

See you later!!

Cycloman.

PD. Could someone post the years when we had early cyclone activity just like thisone? Storms forming before the start of a season?? January, February, March, April and May, and if there has been a hurricane hit on US or the Caribbean on those year(during the season)...?(example... in 19..the storm....form on the month of March ...and then during those season the Hurricane named......hitted ....some island or US state...mention hurricane category winds...etc...)

The only other Subtropical Storm in April occurred in 1992.

That same year, Hurricane Andrew was born.

However, one thing to note, had that ST been named, Andrew would have faded into obsecurity and we would have been talking about how "Hurricane Bonnie" ripped through Southern Florida and Louisiana.

That's true, if it wasn't for subtropical storms being named, Hurricane Bonnie would have indeed been what "Andrew" was.
