Dry slot and snowfall totals

#1 Postby EXTONPA » Sat Jan 22, 2005 1:00 pm

looks like big dry slot forming in central PA...it appears this will drastically cut down on snow totals in some areas. Philly = 4 to 6 inches??

Actually its the wrap around disturbance, it will pull the snow to the coasts when the low redevelops offshore. Very heavy snow will then happen.

Yeah dry slot filled in here too. Just like every storm, we will get more accumulations with wrap around and moisture coming from the east coast.

So what does this mean for the IAD (Dulles) area of Northern Virginia? Looks like we're going to get the dry slot within the hour. Can we excpect a decent amount of additional snow for the remainder of the day?

Not sure... we'd better root for the coastal to be a bit further west though...
