Yet another one coming?

#1 Postby jimvb » Sat Jan 22, 2005 2:43 pm

I have found on the GFS and in the cloud predictions of the Canadian Meteorological Centre (CMC) another storm coming Monday evening. I don't see it in the forecast yet in Virginia, except for "partly cloudy", but it is visible on the CMC maps - go to http://www.richastro.org , click on the band just below the star cluster (Pleiades), then click on any square in the row that says "Cloud cover", then click at bottom "Animate this image". What you see first of all is that it is going to clear overnight for Virginia. It will cloud up again on Sunday, but look up at the Great Lakes. Another batch of clouds coming south out of Canada, headed for the mid-Atlantic. I checked this against the GFS and sure enough , the storm is there too. Not as strong as this one, which I call it Yuck, mainly because that was the headline in the Richmond Times-dispatch, but it looks like another storm.

There was some mention of this clipper on Friday morning, but as you said, now it shows partly cloudy. Something to watch. Thier attention is obviously on the current event.
