So....do you think winter is over?

WELL....seems the majority of the board has stopped crying "Winter's OVER!" with that said, do you think winter is over in your part of the country? For me, NO WAY....yes, we've had 2 weeks of above normal temps, some 10-18° but I KNOW better, Feb. March are the worst months bar NONE here in Az.

Dennis:

I do not believe winter is over for the central plains. We will be way above normal Monday-Wednesday then look to cool back off. Some models are hinting at the southern stream getting active and the pna should be between 1 and negative 1 for a while so I personally think our best shot at a good storm is still to come. Of course, being the central plains the past 12 winters, it could be in the 40's and 50's with everything to our North and South!!! Time will tell, but I think our best is yet to come!!

I think it is darned close to over in the SE US.

January is usually when we see our worst winter weather. If we don't get wintry-type weather in the first two weeks of February, we're not likely to see any this winter. That kind of weather just doesn't happen here in March. By March the weather starts gearing up for spring (only exception to that was March 13, 1993 superstorm).

We've seen nothing so far this winter, except a few cold spells and a lot of rain. Again. Third year in a row. <sigh>

Sorry folks, I was being a *bit sarcastic* with this post, like during the beginning of hurricane season last year, everyone was crying the blues, saying, "The seasons a BUST, blah, blah, blah".....just like 2-3 weeks ago, everyone, "MYSELF INCLUDED" mind you, was crying, "Winter's OVER, it's a BUST" and NOW look what happened......reverse phsco WORKS LOL!

Well, the most I've had this winter so far is 3 inches...all the major stuff keeps barely missing me but I'm used to this, Southeastern KY hardly ever sees any action, maybe February will be different for me. :x

We're only one month into winter.

You're right Dennis...it's like late July and early August last year regarding Hurricane Season. Look how that turned out.

OK, Dennis - Winter is OVER in Tennessee!!! (*doing the
Snoopy dance!)

LOL, but, seriously - we've seen some of our biggest
snows in February and March. I think these cold-to-
warm-to-cold variations in each week are just
"January's Tease".... It's still coming to us...
