Shovels, and Plows be ready for Feburary!!!!
Feburary is a month that has based on the patterns to be another record snowfall month especially for the midwest through the Great Lakes and Northeast. I think that areas that normally didn't get much snow the last 10-20 years will have a good chance with this pattern about to set in. Places like St. Louis, MO, Kansas City, Columbus, OH, Chicago, Both Springfields of MO and IL, etc... This is not a promise, but if it doesn't happen this month it may not happen for at least another winter. A big storm maybe in the works for early next week after a weak weekend system rolls on through by Saturday with a light snow or icing, then the potential Big Boy by Monday and Tuesday. Details are very vauge with this, and it will need to be monitored. For an extreme the 18UTC has St. Louis, MO picking up 1-2 feet of snow by next Thursday!!! with the new pacific pattern setting up with the northern jet as far south as it can get with this pattern, anything is possible!!
If anybody has anything they would like to add to this they may!! and Questions too.

The Gfs 850 hgt showing -18 thermal line over N.C.,that doesn't sound or look like a warm up to me-------------- by day 14..........actually after this 1 day warm up it looks to get colder over the east the next couple of weeks --- the PNA is turning back positive and the NAO is going negative due to blocking in the western Atlantic----------also AO is trending very neg...JSB

Jetstream Bob:
I should have been more specific: by the looks of it, the western half of the country accept for Wisconsin and Michigan look to be above average-everything west of the Mississippi looks to be warm once we get past say next Wednesday-I have not seen the 12z runs-things may have changed, but the 10 day euro is not real winter like for a majority of the country-esp. west of the Missip.
