Through yesterday, January had seen 37.7" snow in Boston. That makes January 2005 the second snowiest January on record and fifth snowiest month on record.

2.2" from tomorrow's clipper would make January 2005 the snowiest January on record. 4.0" would make January 2005 the snowiest month on record.

With 4.5" of snow as of 1 pm, Boston set a new record for monthly snowfall. With 42.2" as of 1 pm, January 2005 is now Boston's snowiest month on record.
