A handful of folks from TWC Boards kept tugging at the back of my shirt to come visit and see the place.
Being originally from the Midwest, I didn't notice a whole lot of difference in what was happening at TWC and the conservatism I had grown up with. Remember, I used to get sent home from school if I forgot to wear a belt that day...so it didn't seem that running those boards with a very short rope was all that much different. I stayed there for a long time after (and in fact still stop by now and then because I have some friends and acquaintances among the TWC staff itself).
However...that being said, Miss Mary, Azskyman, Jackie (Demi-John) and Skywatch were among the most influential people to tug me on over.
To be honest....I have spent my entire adult life hanging around weather junkies...in person and on line. I never ever grow tired of people getting excited about a good storm or staying up all night to see that first snowflake at the streetlight.
Storm2k has for the most part taken the high road and stayed above the fray of mediocre weather websites, and I think it has been a wonderful way to meet and encourage even more weather folks.
In my old age (59 this year!) I have come to appreciate people who love the weather as much as I enjoy the weather itself.
This week alone I had an email from a weather friend in Illinois, one in The Netherlands, one in Maryland, two in Colorado, one in Washington state, and then all of you hanging around here. It doesn't get better than that.
Long story short. Thanks for not letting go of my shirttail. I still enjoy it here.

Steve - you're quite welcome for the invite!!!!
The above sentence is my favorite from your post. "Taking the high road" should be my life motto. It's what I try to do each and every day, and what I suggest my daughters do. I don't always accomplish this though but I try. The high road is what separates S2K from other wx boards, I believe also!

I came with the first wave of refugees from twc when they pulled the plug. And like Miss Mary and countless others i ended up getting banned. Mainly for posting links to s2k.Hard to believe its been about 2 years already.
And you, my friend, were instrumental in getting me over here.
