Chad...not sure what you mean about my homepage...but it is fine. I have a intranet self-created homepage I use located on my C drive that has all the links I like to go to on it. All my browsers are linked to it. I don't have an INTERnet homepage...only an intranet (self contained) one...and it hasn't been hijacked. I've had that before and this isn't it.

you may want to check java stuff too. try to update to the latest version. you may want to restore to a known good date. that will fix it.

That's the first thing I tried. I tried a restore again...just a few minutes ago...all the way back to Nov 1st...and it said it couldn't restore because nothing had changed on my system...which is bunk because I loaded an iPod in December.

What version of Java do you have? it's possible you have more than one version running. if you update it, it may cull the other two out.

Here's some input from a tech assistance site I found:

Running IEfix wont hurt, it will reset IE Search and Home pages to original defaults.
Make sure you have shortcuts to your favorite sites.

2.
May be a corrupt file in IE cache or java cache.

The TIF ( Temporary Internet Files) can also be emptied regularly, via:
Control Panel--Internet Options--General tab--"Delete Files",
Also tick the "delete all offline content" box .

Go to Control Panel -- JavaPlugin .
Click the "Browser" tab and allow IE .
Then Click the "Cache" tab, and choose "Empty".

Check in Internet Options--Adavanced tab, scroll down to "Java(Sun)" and tick box for "Use Java....."

Nope...I was able to download the file. I went into safe mode (still there) and tried to execute the file. No luck. Acted like I didn't do anything. Be back in a minute...trying something else.

If you haven't tried this it might help, if it's a cache virus, a cache virus/hijacker can move from place to place to keep from being deleted.

CleanCache 2.19

#32 Postby Air Force Met » Thu Jan 27, 2005 7:15 pm

I fixed it. I did a undestructive system recovery. I lost some apps...but I can reinstall them. Most of my programs are still there...as was my mozilla...and links to this page! So...all in all...not much lost. And now...things work like they are supposed to!

Thanks for all the help. Mustof got some corrupted data files somewhere...

Definatly was a virus or Hijack of some kind Air Force.. Recovery would of definatly solved it.. FWIW everything should still be on your drive.. Just in different spots.. If you do Start: Search: you should be able to search and find everything

I agree. They ought to throw them under the jail and leave them there with Big Bubba for about 20 years....or put them to work for the US Gov't ;-)
