Criminal Masterminds - Louisiana

#1 Postby southerngale » Thu Jan 27, 2005 3:14 pm

A man walked into a Circle-K, put a $20 bill on the counter and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man pulled out a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer? Fifteen dollars. If someone points a gun at you and gives you money, was a crime committed?

Yeah sunny...I'm sure it would. But it's just funny that he gave away money during the armed robbery.

If it's an armed robbery, he should not be helping the clerk profit. Of course that doesn't change the fact that the robber committed a crime.

But he's not really a robber because he didn't steal anything. lol

Technically he is robbing the store because the $20 he put on the counter is not the property of the store. His gross profit is the $15 dollars he took, but he didn't net anything...so in essence, both him and the store got robbed LOL...btw here in CA $15 dollars is the minimum amount for petty theft.

Had this happen to me when I worked a convenience store way back when. All he got was 11 dollars and a trip to jail.

Second time I was robbed at gunpoint in which the robber got 400 dollars. Turns out he had been casing the store for quite a while. He was monitoring my drops for my deposit. He was caught that night robbing another convenience store and he was so drunk he told the cops he robbed me.

He was tried and convicted. He hung himself at Parchman correctional facilities.

There was not a third time. I quit and went back to college. :D
