Wantonly? That is a strong word IMO. How do we know he should have gotten help? I never seeked help until after going 10 months with it.

True, using a car on a railroad tracks is probably the worst idea, seeing that you can harm other people.

He KNEW that his actions would result in human life being lost. The act was deliberate and premeditated. But as I said earlier he will probably go to a nice comfy hospital instead of the death chamber. Im sure that makes you happy.

Now, who knows that? I am not sure he KNEW his actions would result in more than just his life being lost. Premeditated? Sure, I will grant you that. Deliberate? No.

Makes me happy? What does? The fact that he goes to a MH?

Yea u should be thrilled that he gets to live..unlike many of his victims. This is why I hate liberals with a passion. The give the criminals all the rights and the victims dont get squat.

That is why I believe in the due process model over the crime control model...

Anyway, back on topic. WHAT?!?! I should be thrilled he gets to live? I am in NO way saying that. All I said is he needs help. No where did I say he should live. Should he get the Death Penalty? Well, IMO... maybe.

He is being charged with 11 counts of Murder 1 last thing I heard. I hope they do it and it sticks!!!!

i hope he gets what he himself always wanted, death. however, i feel his crime may be even more horrific than even this indicates. numerous "failed" suicide attempts are often a desire for attention. what if this man had no intention of committing suicide on the tracks? what if he thought it would be a great way to grab national attention for himself without even realizing how many people he would butcher and mangle?
i have no sympathy for him.

Wait a minute. I can understand the no sympathy part. But you are clearly mistaken. Helen, he had cuts on his wrists, and a wound to his chest from trying to stab himself (source: Washington Post). And please explain how "failed" suicide attempts are often a desire for attention.

where they serious wounds? or shallow cuts?

Ok you said he needs help now you are saying "maybe" he should get the death penalty. Ok John Kerry make up your mind.

it sounds to me like he was an attention seeker. but either way it doesnt matter to me.
a-he was serious about killing himself. if thats the case, then he will embrace the death penalty, plead quilty, and beg to be executed
b-his numerous "attempts" at suicide were phony, and he will fight with every fiber of his being to avoid the death penalty

cuts on the wrist mean nothing. the real way of killing yourself via a wrist cut is to cut deeply down the length of the artery, not shallowly arcoss the wrist.

WEll, I am a conservative and I believe that he should NOT get the death penalty. I'm sure he didn't intend for anyone else to be killed, as is evident by his constant repeating of the phrase "I'm sorry" when they found him. Murder 2 maybe, but murder one is stretching it...
