It is too soon after 93. I don't think the models show a snowstorm for the northeast anytime soon, maybe later in February. Models that show any heavy snow possibility in the northeast are very wrong. The EMCW is correct, zonal flow no snowstorms. Good luck southeast though.

Model will do very poorly in a pattern such as this, please don't forget that... Models often don't know how to incorperate storms on the southern stream and don't know how to interact them with the Northern Jet with a pattern such as this...

Too soon after 93 you say, maybe, maybe not... Was 96 too soon after 93?

Then again, models always change. It's just not reasonable that's all. You can say what you want, who knows, by some miracle it may happen.

I disagree....models showing massive amplification in the coming week; I think you will see zonal flow after the SUPERSTORM next week (or weekend)

If there would be a superstorm, who would it effect exactly?

You're are right by saying if, and I never said it would happen for sure, it's just so big that even as a possiblty it deserves discussion...

The where is a question either the Midwest or the East Coast, one run had it in the Plains but I don't by that.

look at latest ECMFW: you can see the trough forming on the 3rd in the south east. ECMFW does not go out any further. But if you look at the JMA, which extends a little further, this trough wraps up into a coastal storm by the weekend. So who may get superstorm? could be anyone east of chicago, but more likely mid-atlantic to new england

We'll see. This is not much more than a prediction, with weather anything can happen, but if it doesn't snow here in nj for the rest of the winter, I'm fine with that. We still have nearly 10 inches on the ground.

The EURO does show quite the zonal pattern next week. However, the 500 plot of the 12Z show the cut off low in the south west moving out into the southern plains by next Thursday. This will be something to watch for the central and southern plains next week.
