Group claims karaoke is criminal

DALLAS, Texas - The next time you see someone jump onstage at a karaoke bar and belt out a tune, keep in mind you could be watching an illegal act. And it wouldn’t be the singing.

OMG.. whats next? This is getting out of control. Musicians dont realize they make about 5% per cd sale. Amounts to nothing. They make their money touring and selling merchandise. Lets ponder on which ones have been complaining about this... they are all the big superstar bands. Who have enough money already! True fans will be the cds anyways because they want the booklets and artwork. What a bunch of s***.

I karaoke all the time. If they think it's unlawful, they're outta their minds :grr:

I figure it is only a crime if the karaoke singer really sucks!!!! :lol:

Karaoke is cool.. I have learned to say that sucky singers make "joyful noise" lol

Well, I've always said that if I were elected president, one of my first orders would be to ban karaoke. Yeah, I'd have a constitutional problem -- freedom of expression, blah blah blah -- but, ya know, whatever. :-)

Even if someone sucks at singing, so what, it's all fun and that's what it's all about. I've seen it, I've done it myself. :lol:

Sure, they can sing all they want.

The problem stems from the restaurants and bars and, in some cases, singers making money off the performances.

If I were singing Karaoke, it would definitely be a crime. I sing so badly, rumor is my voice has been already been outlawed in 33 states and all of Canada :lol:
