Interesting system! Ana caused a flood of posters!!!

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Interesting system! Ana caused a flood of posters!!!

#1 Postby The_Cycloman_PR » Mon Apr 21, 2003 6:06 pm

A coment...

Ana formed from a gale center and now is gaining topical caracteristics maybe becoming a true tropical storm! Even if it does'nt last long and disipates in 2 or 3 days this storm has caused an avalanche of storm enthusiastics from all corners of US and the caribbean to jump into the boards to discuss weather! Even people that planned to return to boards on May to start posting for the new hurricane season in June 1rst have come to post about Ana. I had to put a stop on my job responsabilities and found time to come because of this event. This has been an early wakeup call to all of us for a season that has'nt even started yet! AWESOME!! A little apetizer for weather fans.

A trough extending from Ana since it still was a gale center brough very heavy rain across PR last Thursday to Friday and caused the worst floods PR has seen in the last 5 years taking two lives so far. One drowned when a flooded river took him and the other fell from the roof of his home into flooded waters. The system continues to bring heavy rainfall across Puerto Rico as this moment, and this bad weather may persist until Ana moves east-northeastward and the trough move east away from us maybe wednesday or thursday.

Subtropical storm Ana came in the right moment! It brought all the gang toguether to prepare ourselves for the 2003 season, one that promise to be a very interesting one with almost all cyclone predicting factors (including neutral to la nina conditions, and you all know the rest of them) in favor for an active season. The question is...It's Ana an example of things to come??? Time will tell....

Have an extraordinary (but safe!!) 2003 season!!

And happy posting to all of you!

Cycloman.

Agree 100% with you about this tropical board being so active early well before june 1 as it looks like in the middle of the hurricane season with many posts here. :D

Time will tell if this very early system will be precursor or not of things to come later.

Yeah flooding continues in various parts of the island as more rain is falling on the saturated grounds but I think that in 2 days that tail end of ANA will weaken and go away let's hope so.

I have heard Ana isn't a sign of things to come but we shall see. I agree with the flood( no pun intended) of posters and we shall see if their are more early sub-tropical or tropical systems to come. Last year was an unusual season and this year may be too. Looking foward to this year and the input of all of our experts and enthusiasts..Glad you guys in PR are drying out. :D
