Should I . . .?

#1 Postby JenyEliza » Sun Feb 06, 2005 6:08 pm

Should I leave my shorts and T's unpacked from winter storage? Or should I wash them and put them back later this month to make room for my cold weather clothes (again)?

Guess what I'm asking is. . .after spending the last couple of days in the mid to high 60's....will the Southeast be seeing any more winter type weather, or are we just heading to early spring?

Anyone care to hazard a guess? Got a crystal ball, or Ouja board? ;)

Thanks,

Jen (who is doing laundry and doesn't know what to do about winter vs. summer clothes at the moment)

I definitely wouldn't pack away the winter clothes as of now. There are indications that winter will return for the 2nd half of February, and possibly an opportunity in the latter half of the month for the potential of one more winter weather event before month's end for the Southland ...

Even early through mid March can bring on some wintry surprises...so nothing can be discounted...

Thanks guys! I think I'll just keep the winter stuff in my drawers and make room for a few spring/summer things (just in case).

The rest of the summer stuff I'll probably bring out in a month....and then consider whether I need to leave a few winter things out (just in case). ;) :D

Does that make sense?

True, true. Seems like the winter of 92/93 was much like this one in Atlanta. Nothing to speak of in the way of wintery precip until March 13. Then we made up for the lack of winter weather in a big kind of way. :D

Let's hope it happens this year...that would be way cool!

I'm hoping for one more shot of arctic air before the winter is over down here. It can still get very cold around here in Feb...back in 1996 we had mid teens for lows for a few days.

Yeah I think its over. Its already the 6th and there really isnt any good cold coming in the long time. By the time March comes you can basically call it an end, as the sun angle is way too high and the spring pattern sets up.

I can't remember what year it was. Not to long ago we had a "storm with no name" and it got cold with high winds and a storm surge in March. We were living on Davis Island and the yachts and sailing boats washed ashore.

Well, Eric she does live in Atlanta! Even TWC can't pull enough strings for Atlanta to be in wx-news 24/7!

If you want one more winter event Jeny, then I would definitely break out the shorts and pack away winter clothing. If you did that up here in Ohio, you'd be wanting those warm clothes back in a few days.

I know winter is far from over up here in the Ohio Valley. We're just having a respite from winter right now. A teaser of Spring. Which doesn't come until March. I still say we're in for at least one more winter event. Probably several (OV that is).
