MAJOR, MAJOR Flooding underway, prayers PLEASE!

#1 Postby azsnowman » Fri Feb 11, 2005 6:29 am

Once again, I come to my Storm2K family for prayers, we KNOW the power of prayer and how it WORKS......well, this is a VERY serious situation I'm faced with (not to mention most of the state of Az.).........I've been called to duty early today, hence the reason I'm posting at 0430 MST, the rain has already started and it's HEAVY! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you! The problem.....the snow level, as per ADOT (az dept of trans, snow plow drivers on the radio) have reported the snow level to be at 8500' this morning, the snowpack from 8000' and higher stands at 80+".....this is a MAJOR disaster in the making for ALL of the lower elevations (I'm at 7102' here at the house) across the state.

That's a bad place to be with that kind of flooding. Good luck with it all.

Dennis - Please know that ALL of your friends here will be praying for you and others in your locale until this event is over. I hope that moisture plume disappears ASAP.

Take care and stay safe!

I realize the risk that this can put on areas of extreme snowpack, but as Steve mentioned, for the most part especially this storm has been slower and more steady thus far...a nice way to add moisture to where it is needed.

My rainfall total here in Scottsdale for this storm is 1.47" over the least two days thus far. Rainfall should be more "showery" and less "steady" today, but any "quick" rains will cause some street flooding now that the area is saturated. Nearly 4" this year thus far!

Your area was the big winner but still rainfall down here was close to my expectations. I expected 0.4-0.8in for Sierra Vista and so far the numbers show about 0.4-0.5in for town. One remote site in the Rincons had over 3 inches so far and I have seen many reports of over 2 inches up Snow's way so my 2-4 inches with isolated 5 inches looks good-especially since rainfall could still occur today in the Whites. Snow level was above 8000 feet.

Here we go! I finished this last system up with 1.03" of rain, doesn't sound like a heck of lot BUT....considering the snowpack
