What will happen to the forum after Winter officially ends?

#1 Postby krysof » Mon Feb 14, 2005 7:42 pm

I was never here in the spring on this site, or summer. What do u guys talk about after winter is really over? I mean there will still be some wintry weather to talk about in April, but by mid to late April, winter is basically finished for all, what happens than? Just wondering.

well by summer, I'm definetelly going to take about the tropics, one of my favorite topics, currently there is nothing going on there so I won't really bother until April 27th when I leave here for the spring and summer and go to the hurricane and tropical forum which is the biggest forum comparing all the forums on this site. If there is nothing much going on here in spring. I might leave here between April 10-18. You can say I'm hibernating for the mid spring and summer. Once I leave this forum I won't return until September 1st or until things start to get intresting on this forum and that could be the last week of September into October 2005.

The US Weather forum starts to get more active when Spring and Summer kick in due to the severe weather threats.

People just tend to migrate from different forums during different times of the year. Winter will slow way down and the Tropical will be nuts.

You said it we didn't!!LOL!!!!

Krysof, I am a little confused. I just read in some other threads where you were saying winter is over and there isn't going to be any more winter weather. What gives?

my opinion remains the same, no wintry weather for this month, the forecasts don't show it getting cold at all.

...and some of us go into Winter Withdrawal Syndrome (WWS), and start monitoring the weather in the Southern Hemisphere looking for reports of snow and ice.

Yet others crave to be ontop Mt Washington NH until spring finally cracks into the summit somewhere around August

We rarely get any severe weather events during the Spring/Summer/Fall, compared to most other areas in the country. Although, we did have several weak tornadoes in Western Washington last year, that brought some excitement. :D

That is true Justin!! We even had a F-1 (that is big time for us) that ripped a barn to pieces down in Issaquah or somewhere in that area. There was a F-0 just a few miles north of me that auctually crossed I-5!!

Well there's Severe Weather Season, Tornados, Hail Storms, Flooding, Straight Line Winds of 60+mph, and The ever popular Severe Thunder Storms. So much to look forward to starting mid March, then we move over to the Tropics starting in August for Hurricane Season, then it's back to the Winter Weather forum late October to start things all over again. :D

Indeed some of us do....I follow the snow in Australia. Some excellent weather forecasters in the weather forum at http://www.ski.com.au

They have bazoodles of GREAT snow-cams, and an excellent group of Aussies who discuss everything from weather to ski gear, etc. They watch their models same as we do here too!!

They're already in ski-season countdown mode Down Under!! I believe their term for snow withdrawls is "SDS" (i think it stands for Snow Distress Syndrome or something). ;)
