Annabelle, too, was a "throwaway"; the people that had her kept her in a carry-cage for up to 18 hours a day while she was a puppy.

Finally, this guy's wife (for whom he bought the AKC-registered toy poodle) decided that, with a baby coming into her life, she didn't want the puppy any longer. Distraught, this man came over to our apartment and asked me if we wanted her (she was about 4 months old at that time).

I picked her up in one hand (tiny thing!) and presented Annabelle to Debi...the rest is history. And, she BE a ho'!

Stephanie,

Thanks  There is seriously no way to be mad at her, ever! She's just way too cute. She's super sassy too, just fun to be around. She'a ALWAYS hungry, and has therefore gained 2 nicknames- Hungry Hippo and Bailey Balooga.

Bill - well you just came up a notch or two in my opinion!!! That little dog, who cares if she be a 'ho......she's one special little dog!!! 18 hours a day in a cage.....grrrr. Some people just do not deserve to have pets.

Speaking of which, I watched a second interview with Patricia Heaton (Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond) on late night TV. First one over a year ago, all she talked about were her plastic surgeries (tummy tuck, boob job, etc.) and how she could afford to have it done. She guested on Letterman recently and we tape it every night. As soon as he said and we have the lovely PH on tonight I thought okay, I'll watch her again, hopefully this time she'll come off as somewhat normal or nice. Wrong! She went on and on, asking for so many compiments but what got me was she admitted her family owns a beagle. It is not permitted in the house, is kept way in the back of their property. No one in the family pays any attention to it, she thinks this is funny, pausing for laughs. Her idea to fix the solution? Get another dog, so this poor, lonely, neglected dog will have company. Yep, she actually said this. My husband was watching and knew my opinion of her was pretty low. He said - oh no, here goes Mom on one of her rants.... I've decided I just can't stand the woman. I'm hoping someone by now has convinced her she came as being very self centered and full of herself. And maybe just maybe they said - please give that poor dog away. A Hollywood celeb who's wealthy, admits to ignoring her dog! Unbelievable.

Wow Miss Mary - I've always had a very high opinion of Patricia Heaton, not to mention I LOVE Everybody Loves Raymond. She makes a strong stance for innocent children with her pro-life views in a Hollywood world of people who think it's ok to abort innocent babies. I dunno...I always respect people like that. Maybe she was joking about the dog? I really don't know but I've seen her in many interviews and full of herself never once came to mind. I always thought she was very down to earth. Wow, funny how 2 people can see someone so differently. ;)

Thanks for all of your opinions. I'm making notes left and right. Image

Patricia surely had to be kidding about her pet Beagle being neglected...she is a comediene actress after all.

Eric - nope. My entire family could see she was serious. Even Dave asked her - you have a dog but no one pays any attention to it? I think he might have even said how sad! To which she said, to be funny - my answer is to get another dog for this poor, loney dog!

I just can't stand her! Of course her TV character leaves a lot to be desired too. I really wanted to separate the two - actress from character. So now PH is two for two, two strikes against her in my opinion! She said she didn't even cry when they filmed the final show. Near the end the actor playing Robert teared up and she almost did. Sorry, but she comes across as one big you now what to me. She comes across as harsh, not funny in the slightest.

I wanted to go get her dog after that interview! And find a loving home for it.

Well, she does have one strike remaining....the bat hasn't swung yet. If I see another interview of her, I promise I'll at least tune in. If she's the way she was on interviews 1 and 2, well then that's it for me! I have little respect right now for her. She could pull it up, IF I see a positive interview with her.

you dont like her character either? wow. i think that is one of the greatest roles ever. if I were her, both Ray and his mother would be way back in my rear view mirror by now. he's such a SCHMUCK and that mother is a meddling witch.

anyway, she was not a lover of animals or animal lovers until she got that dog and now she's a fan of both.

it may have been poor taste (may have been bad editing too) but I feel certain that's all it was.

We despise the character of Debra Barone in this family! Sorry to derail this topic....but let's see she's a member of that other wife club - Kerry from King of Queens, Dana from Listen Up, probably more but I can't quite think of them right now. In other words, the wives that are mean! Her character did start out nice. Watch a few early season episodes. We liked her character a lot back then! Not now. Thank goodness for Amy!

Okay, back to pet discussions....LOL

Thanks, Mary...

Annabelle is still afraid of being "abandoned" whenever one or all of us leave the house...she is SO happy to see us! Debi reports that the Nanner sits on my rocking chair, ignoring everyone, watching the back door until I come home. She won't go to sleep until I go to bed, and sleeps at the foot of the bed, 'guarding her Daddy" with her face pointed towards the door of our bedroom...

Her's a poor ho'... :(

I think her character is one of the greatest roles ever too. I love that show - I see so much similarity in her and Raymond and several couples I know. lol
Maybe not quite the extreme though...ie, the Wallpaper episode. Very funny episode though. My favorite is 'Bad Moon Rising' - the PMS episode - cracks me up!! Anyway, I think the show is hilarious and her character portrays how a lot of women act or should act with a funny, loveable doofus for a husband. :P

Btw, she had four C-sections. If she can afford a tummy tuck and wanted it, why not? ;)

Bill - Annabelle sounds like our dog Hope. Hope does the same thing I've heard. If I'm away at a retreat or something, she looks in every room after they get her up in the morning. Once she determines I'm not home, she lies down with a big sigh. If I run out to the mailbox, she gives me a greeting as if I've been gone for hours! I always say we could have named Hope Shadow. Sounds like that name would fit Annabelle too!

Mary

PS - Kelly, I have nothing against PH having work done. It was the way she bragged about it on the first TV interview I saw of her. She said she just plunked down her money and had it done. Then looked right at the camera and said you too ladies, can plunk down your money and have it done (she actually used the word 'plunk'). Look at me! Well, as you probably know already, most insurance companies do not cover this type of surgery. I thought it was very insensitive to make it sound so affordable. I just wish she had been modest about. Honest yes, I commend her for that. Just don't brag about it. To each his own though. You're not alone. Many people love her character. We did too, the first few seasons.
