i've been hit three times last year and im sorta looking forward to the hurricane season i think??????????????? :roll:

I cant wait to be tracking the storms again. Also, I cant wait to see how many people register this year for the board when the hurricane season gets active. Last year this place went nuts and it was awsome. Lots of great discussions, cant wait for it to happen again.

We hope that as storm2k has moved to a new server this time the board does not go down when hundreds of members are at the same time as things heat up bigtime in the Atlantic Basin this upcomming 2005 season.

I am not looking forward to June! My birthday falls in the middle of it. June 25th. I used to love my birthday. Not anymore. I will be 29. The last year of the 20's. I know age is just a number but I still dread just saying it when asked. When 30 arrives, I won't want to get out of bed. :cry:

Look how the numbers are going down in a hurry as time goes fast.Already mid febuary and I began the countdown at the last day of january at 120.

I would've started the countdown at 100 because the season seems much closer than if you start at 120.

This will be my last post on this forum until things get intresting in the atlantic, I will return regularly either by April 27th or earlier, but somewhere in April. I never posted here during the hurricane season, because I joined this site in early January 2005. I can't wait for the season.

If that is your desire it's your decision.We will have our annual forecasts poll starting at March 15th.Things begin to heat up at forum after Dr Gray puts out his april outlook.

I suggest you come back with a MUCH better attitude then you have been having in the winter forum, or please do not bother coming back at all

I have noticed the longer days already.

We are very curious to see what 2005 brings to us here in Florida. SST's are already pretty warm from Africa to the Islands between 10N-20N and the heating isn't even in full swing yet. Neutral ENSO conditions for prime time at least and so far the Bermuda High and SE ridging has been fairly persistant..simialr to last year.. NOT Good..But it's weather and things can change quickly..so no worries yet..Even one landfall is going to be serious trouble to Florida. We still have many people living in FEMA Park(551 mobile homes)down here is SW Floirda.. It should be interesting alrighty..

Good points Paul and that is why we every year wait for that day June 1 when from that day we begin to watch the North Atlantic Basin and track tropical waves and disturbances that may form in the caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico in the early part of the season and then by August it expands eastward towards the Eastern Atlantic.Every season has something different and challenges to the forecasters as the patterns are in a constant change.In 2004 the first Tropical Depression formed on July 31 and Tropical Storm Alex formed on August 1.Now we will see if this 2005 season will see developments of storms in an early stage by June or July or it will wait until early August. The countown will continue to change every day and I say to all who live in the tropical regions prepare now before that countdown gets to 0 or June 1 and if a threat arises in a particular area be safe this season and if the authorities say to you evacuate do so for your safety and your family.

Important Dates Prior to June 1:

March 15=Storm2k Forecast Numbers poll will start.

March 21-25=Hurricane Conference at New Orleans,LA.

April 1=Dr Gray issues his April outlook for 2005 season.

May 9-13=Hurricane Conference at Tampa,Fla.

May 19=NOAA issues their 2005 Hurricane Season outlook.
