the 2-4 inches for SE New England seems very unlikely. The Local mets here are saying the Eastern Track is looking more likely and with that and almost all snow event. 6-12 was the general snowfall amounts given.

NE Jer, I applaud you for taking the time to put this together and give some honest predictions at a time when there's still a lot up in the air with the storm, nice job. I hope that dark blue gets moving in my direction.

Alright everyone, as I said I'll be back on very late tonight after updating my website for SE PA... I will post an update in this thread as well, now it's off to maps maps and more maps, maps from now, maps from two storms in 1987, and one from 1977... Maybe the answer to the future lies in tha past...

Saturday evening update:
I'm beginning to lean towards the coastal track. That means a mostly snow and colder event. The heaviest precip will be closest to the low, so potentially, the Cape could again see some of the highest amounts IF the air stays cold enough there to prevent a changeover. A rough guestimate on snowfall potential? 6-12" within reason and wind gusts 50 mph plus possible as I now think we'll have a nor'easter on our hands Monday pm into Tuesday. Even Wednesday, some leftover flurries might linger.

It's a storm to watch and I'll update you as things develop.
Until then, enjoy your weekend,
Meteorologist Chikage Windler

Okay,

What are the latest maps indicating... Is there going to be enough cold air that will penetrate into the areas such as DC and philly to bring plain snow with no rain mix??

What about totals??

Anyone, anyone, Beuller??

Thanks!!

I did notice that accuweather has started to remove a lot of it's snow/rain mix entries (from the hourly forecast) in my area....

It started out this evening with snow/rain all day monday, but now it's just down to snow/rain starting around 2 PM

Thanks for all of the great advice so far everyone!! Let's hope that you predict this one right!! I love it when the met on the news has to come back and apologize for a horribly wrong forecast *grin*
