question for everyone
when you all access the board, are you receiving a message that you have to download something to view the board. I access the board from home via netscape 7.0 and am getting a message that I need to add a plug in to view the site? Was this a hack job from this morning, or is the board no longer able to view via netscape.
For the record, I am now at rsmas viewing using mozilla and am not getting an error message (the download would not even work since I am not using a windows machine)

I got that early this morning. The download would not work and I think it might have possibly been a virus! (Sasser?)
I had difficulty shutting down my computer afterwards, and had to hold down on the power button to turn it off. Afterwards, I checked and no viruses. But I'm still not sure if it is gone. I'll have to check again.
I'm thinking it might have been a hackjob. I think Storm2k would have posted something in advance in regards to necessary donloads.

I installed it just to see what it does. I know I'm crazy.
Anyway, th eonly effect I've seen is that it tries to PING constantly. My ZoneAlarm caught it and isolated it from the internet, though. After i shutdown and restarted, (had to do it manually), the virus is gone. I think McAfee nailed it.
The lesson in this is to download and install antivirus software, and download and install ZoneAlarm.

I downloaded it but then removed it.
I ran a virus check and McAFEE found nothing.
my laptop seems to be running ok.
but I do have some of those csrss.exe files in start up. should I do what aquawind suggested and uncheck them all?
what is a csrss.exe file anyway??

Virus
Noticed your crawler. I recieved no message on entry so issue must be resolved. By now everyone should know not to open exe unless you are sure of what is, and the source. BTW, also haven't recieved any virus in email either in some time. Seems Earthlink's filter is working well, plus I have Norton's 2005, and Microsoft's Service Pack 2. I'm afraid the ease of breaking Microsoft's code makes it so tempting for idiots. At least now there are counter measures.

Well, I still am having problems shutting down the computer. I have to do it manually.
I'm able to print stuff.
I ran a virus check that showed nothing. (However, it is McAfee.)
Despite all this, I'm pretty sure it's in there and I can't find it.
I feel so stupid. Like somebody who gets drunk and wakes up naked on somebody's lawn.
I was tired and I figured it was OK because it was Storm2k.
