all expenses paid vacation?

#1 Postby Amanzi » Wed Apr 23, 2003 3:22 pm

If you got a phone call saying you had won an all expenses paid vacation to any destination in the world, where would you go?

Well for me that would have to be Egypt. I would love nothing more than to go and see the valley of the kings and the pyramids of Giza.

Probably Iceland. It always has seemed such a facinating place! The combination of glaciers and active volcano's just sounds cool! :-)

I would tour the United States - there are so many places that I haven't been that I would love to see.

Well, it certainly would not be Key West. Perhaps Belize. Basically, anyplace that is on the ocean and is tropical in nature. No more mainland stuff for me!!

If I got such a call, I would think it was a scam. Wouldn't you?

If it were for real, I would rather tour all fifty states, at least the lower forty-eight.

One of the neatest place in the US to visit is Yellowstone National Park. If you haven't had the chance to see it add it to your list! I have had the good fortune to travel quite a bit courtesy of Uncle Sam and there is still no place in the world that I hold as dear. :-)

Bronwyn, I truly hope that wish comes true for you some day. Your delightful outlook and enthusiasm for wisdom and knowledge make a you a perfect candidate for an Egyptian tour! Let me know if you win!

As for me...I have seen some real estate around the world...in Hawaii, Japan, SE Asia, Switzerland, Germany, the Bahamas, and much of the US of A. I could appreciate, however, an all expense paid trip back to my hooch in Vietnam...to stay for one night in the billets where I slept and cried and fretted. My eyes and heart would appreciate a more healthy look at that year of my life...not from a hotel room, but from a single day and night walking the compound and sleeping in that tiny bunk.

Kathy and I have a wonderful young friend we met through my weather connection back in 1994 or so. d'Jemima lives with her mom and grandparents in The Netherlands. At 17 she is a bright young spirit who dreams some day of a trip to the US with her mom. I'd give them that gift in a heartbeat if I could...so I might trade in my winnings and share it with d'.

David, you have to share Tahiti with me....I'd take a cruise on the Paul Gaghaun sp? and cruise to all the little islands near Tahiti!

Steve if I won a prize like that I think I would be the happiest person on the planet. I have always been addicted to travel. There is soooo much to learn from people. when I travel I normally do as much history research on a place as I can before I go, and try to get into a part of the place that is un touristy. That is where you learn the most and get the best food! Of course I do the usual sight seeing too.

MF my husband absolutely fell in love with Yellow Stone. I am hoping to take a trip to the west next year.
