Much of Florida has had under 50 percent of normal precipitation so far this winter. Spring is usually a dry time across Florida as well. A continuation of dry weather could lead to a busy wildfire season across the state over the next few months. Fortunately, a soaking rain is expected across a large portion of central and southern Florida later Thursday into Friday. Rainfall should top 1 inch across much of this area with up to 2 inches in parts of central Florida.
ACCUWEATHER
I really hope a good soaker is on the way, we are under critical conditions in Florida. Especially, South Florida. We already had a wildfire today in Miami-Dade County. If dry conditions contunue over the next months, measures to regulate water could be taken. A minor tropical storm is needed!
