Yes stop by Steph and post your numbers even if you are not an expert. :)

The days are getting longer every day indicating that summer is not far away as time flys by. :)

It's been a week for me and its Thursday which means its time for my weekly post until April where I'll post much more frequently. The sun has to warm up the waters because waters everywhere except the actual tropics are warm enough for what they should be. We are below average with water temperature but after the cold pattern breaks by late March and as spring rolls in, hopefully the waters will warm rapidly. Why is March 15 so special by the way. I could give my predictions right now and it would be the same thing. I'll think about giving my true predictions once the March 15 poll thing begins.

See you next week on March 17 at about the same time as the days draw closer.

You dont have to post your numbers exactly on March 15th because there will be plenty of time until May 31rst at midnight to do so.

It was nearly 80 on the Alabama and Florida Panhandle beaches today... that'll certainly help.

The way things are looking we are going to see an active Atlantic hurricane season 2005...wouldn't be surprised if we get an early storm to develop say in June or even in May! Have you seen the waves that are already coming off Africa? Bermuda high is remaining strong this winter.
Pacific has low SSTs and El nino is waning. Watch out Florida again.

Water temps are warming in the Tropical Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. Buoys well offshore of Southwest FL in the Gulf are at 78.....minimal threshold to support hurricane development.

Yea SST's are climbing up steady. The beach was actually comfortable yesterday. These above normal temps seem to be taking a bite out of the chill.
