Where do you buy your clothes?

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sat Mar 12, 2005 6:56 am

Where do you buy your clothes, WalMart, Kmart, Sears, JCPennys?

If I need *cheap* clothes, ie summer shorts, tee shirts, I'll hit KMart.....for dress clothes (BTW...dress clothes for me is a NEW pair of Levis  ) I'll drive to Flagstaff to shop at Kohls, for dress slacks ie GOLFING apparel 8-) ......it's Kohls or Sears! I will NOT buy clothes at Wally World, simply because, why spend $10 on a shirt that lasts 4 months when you can spend an extra $5 at Kohls and get TIRED of the shirt before it wears out?

Dennis....we live in the center of a shopper's paradise here in north central Scottsdale. From Coldwater Creek and Talbots and Tommy Bahama and Orvis, all the high end places are just around the corner.

Still, we order 80% of our clothes from a handful of catalogs. And we're smart enough to pick up some bargains at Costco or Target when we see them.

Either pennys, or Eddie Bauer, but most of my clothes are bought at the golf course I work at since I get a awesome employee discount!

- Lands' End (on sale, off season)
- Eddie Bauer (same, off season for best deals)
- LL Bean (off season again)
- Kohl's (all on sale, love this store)
- Target (basics, like T's, PJ's, etc.)
- TJ Maxx (sometimes)
- Chadwicks (sometimes)
- Coldwater Creek (for dresses)
- Christopher & Banks (half is too teachery for me, but their jeans and cords are great)

I'll always joke if we ever win the lotto, my entire wardrobe will come from Lands' End and Eddie Bauer. And oh, maybe Talbot's if I need a dressy outfit.

Some in local stores (Wal-Mart, Sears, Penney's) and some online (US Cavalry, Brigade Quartermasters, Cheaper Than Dirt, Cabela's).

Debi gets hers at the "Hindenburg Line" shops.

Hey, I'm always on the lookout for online shopping sites. That are similar to Eddie Bauer or Lands' End. If anyone has links, post them.

Bill - are you joking about where Debi's gets her clothes? LOL

Because of her knee injury (11 pins holding her knee together) and inability to exercise, Debi (5"5") outweighs me by about 100 lbs; therefore, she has to buy HUGE clothes, then take them down for her height.

She wants to lose weight...she just can't figure out how to go about it.

"OH, the humanity!...I..I can't talk any more, ladies and gentlemen...it's...it's..."

Mary, try Duluth Trading Company or Cabela's...both have websites and mail-order catalogs.

Actually, mine are made by Omar the Tent maker......especially my uniforms and talk about EXXXXXXXPEEEEENSIVE, $55 per SHIRT , I just bought a bullet proof vest at $480, actually, that's CHEAP, the PD received a grant to help pay for new BPV'S, it payed 1/3 of the price, even if the vest were a $1000, I'd GLADLY pay it!

And sometimes I would go to a thrift store to get clothes at various discounts.

Oh the humanity, indeed. Bill, you better quite literally watch your back or there could be a major conflagration.

Me? Let's see.....

Right now, I'm wearing sneakers from the Dollar Store, Socks from the Dollar Store, underwear from the Dollar Store, Jeans from the Dollar Store, and a hand-me-up tee shirt that one of my sons grew out of.

For work clothes: K-Mart or Walmart.

Belk

Coldwater Creek? Oooooooh....!! I had forgotten about them!
I used to get the catalog, with no stores close-by, and, I lost
them after I moved, several years back! I'm going to their
site to order the mail catalog. Thanks for the brain jolt!
