its a rare south texas storm jeff..... not a texas storm..... thats the only reason it was such a big deal houston and exteme south texas its a huge deal but even sanantonio snow occurs often just in exteme south texas and southeast tx in victoria and houston its a huge deal....... the panhandle in amarillo sees snow in march and april every year... and west and north texas snow, ice or sleet falls every yr. ....... it was just a big deal in houston and victoria and just exteme south texas and southeast texas

the last......
the last houston snow was in 1996, but snow was even a bigger deal in new orleans their last snow accaording to records was in 1990 now thats a big deal.........!!!! 15 yrs ago... even northern mexico got snow too..

Maybe it's because you have 2 user names with the same profile, just pick 1 name and stick with it. It causes problems when one person uses more than 1 user name.

12-13 inches of snow would be a big deal anywhere in TX including Dallas.
Any a foot of snow across the coastal bend and SE TX was a very big deal and similar totals had not happened since 1895.
So not only was it a big deal, but it was historical (12.5 inches at Victoria was their greatest snowfall ever).

The trace in 1996 is a far cry from the amounts that fell this pas Dec. Not even DEC 1989 or Feb 1960 rival the DEC 24-25 event.

Actually, the last real snow in New Orleans was 1989. But it also snowed in the March 1993 storm.
