JB is throwing in the towel!!! NO!!!!!

#1 Postby Jrodd312 » Tue Mar 15, 2005 9:35 am

JB is throwing in the towel for the Northeast.....says that the 2 storms will be south of the M/D Line, but leaves open the possibility of something over the weekend, although this would be an inland threat. Jer do you still have faith in this thing????

Sorry Jrodd...

My dissapointment is not even possible to express, first two storms will effect NC mts... There still is a window to bring this thing north but quite honestly it just doesn't look like it will happen...

As for the weekend storm, which is signifcant according to the DGEX, also isn't looking to promising according to the GFS and EURO... The DGEX has done well this winter, when compared to the GFS, the EURO hasn't been doing so hot for the past two weeks so I won't count out this storm just yet... But perhaps winter's wrath which has reached the levels for a normal winter in terms of snowfall in most places, may be ending...

I'll tip my hat to the computer models, they defied climatology, and an impresive analog for a major storm... And ended up being right... I still find it hard to believe every other time that the NAO dropped to this level for this long there has a been a major east coast storm... But I guess statistic are just numbers and not law...

I'm very upset about all this... And on a personal level I'm very sorry for getting people's hopes up... It lookes so right and in 48 hours it was just destroyed...

Krysof... I will bow down for the time being, I had always said to side with caution, but in the end you were right... It's just hard to get a major storm in March as I learned by doing all the research that put into it
