new gathering for South Florida

I would like to have another gathering hopefully for May or Early June. any ideas would be great and hopefully we can have pictures to prove it this time around.The last gathering was fun let's make this one even better.Comments are welcome.

Lets make it a neutral site. I would like to get the SW Florida people involved too.

the choice of a truly central location is going to be difficult with our geography. IMO, a site either north or south of the lake reasonably close to the center of the state would be fairest to all. it would give all our forum commandos a roughly similiar length trip.....any commets?

Lindaloo Bocagirl was supposed to develop the pictures and send it too one of the admin to post. I spoke to Boca girl in Dec and I haven't heard back.

I think a resturant setting is the best I just don't know where and when. The last gathering worked out well. Hopefully we can get pictures this time.

NP Boca. As far as Bocagirl is concerned, she has been having a rough time for the last few months. I haven't heard from her in several weeks.

Yikes! I'm sorry I never reported back. Well, here's the bad news. I used one of the cheapie disposable cameras and when I took it it in to be developed, the folks at Eckerd said they couldn't get any of the pictures to work. We could see shadows and outlines but no workable pictures. They had three techs working on it at one point. They felt terrible and so did I.

Vbhoutex is right-I have been having somewhat of a rough time lately, so I'll have to let boca handle the planning of this next gathering without me.

I sure hope some of you will find the time to help him. It takes lots of time and energy to get a group together.

i am leaning toward sebring too.....to be fair to the majority...but am open to other options as well

Actually, I have been discussing the samething with a couple of local people here in NE Fla.
Let me know, maybe we can coordinate something.
I was actuallt thinking of a full weekend type gathering. BBQ, Music, weather personalities, storm chasers, ect. We are looking into discount rates at hotels/motels and camp grounds. I have someone doing some research now, I'll get back with everyone when I know more.
This would be a SE US gathering.

I don't know where Sebring is, but I am sure I could find it on a map.

I think if you got it close enough up toward the top of the state that people from MS/AL/LA/GA could possibly attend. I for one would be interested and might be able to drag along Lindaloo since we are in the same city.

I know Biloxi/Gulfport is a piece from Miami/West Palm Beach area, but the casions always have "junkets" flying into Gulfport every day. They did have flights for $49.00 from Tampa/Miami to Gulfport last time I checked. I know the casinos would offer a block of rooms at a good price if they were asked. Casinos don't care about rooms or food, they want your dollars in their machines are on their tables. They also have big conference rooms, etc. that could be used.

You wouldn't have to drag me, I would hop right in. lol. As for the flight, you WILL have to drag me. I am scared to fly. A road trip would be better. :lol:

We could take Robi's blue light and fly in either the big brown you know what or the big green flying machine. :lol:

Or the yellow submarine.
