This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I think Emily and Dennis could be double trouble, if its not them than it will be Gert and Harvey. Both will be major hurricanes and follow almost the same tracks though the one that develops second might ride up the coast like a nor'easter.

Dennis is the one that has tried and tried before.

Makes me worry about "him".

I think the all-time champs in try and trying again are Allison and Bob.

You could make a case for Charley too; 1986 and 1998 before 2004.

Allison was retired after her last try, a storm I will probably remember as long as I live.

My first hurricane was Hurricane Flossie in 1958(?) in Gulf Breeze, FL.

emily is the only storm to affect land as a major hurricane in consecutive cycles, yet was not retired. (Hispaniola, 1987, Hat, 1993)

The only 4 cases that I know of where a major has not been retired after a direct hit were Diana 1984, the two Emilys, and Bret 1999

I wonder if Bret and Emily will make another go at it this year.

Diana was retired in 1990 after hitting Mexico as a Category 2. Diana left 96 dead.

Yet hardly anything is mentioned on the internet about Hurricane Diana (1990).

Dennis and Katrina

Reasons being last season Danielle at one point was forecast to hit the south coast of England (Would of have been extratropical by then), and Karl made it up this way as well.

Bret could be a bad one he has been doing his bets to get retired in recent times.

1993: 184 deaths across northern South America and Nicaragua.

1999: made landfall as a category 3 hurricane in one of the most sparsely populated parts of the US coast.

Franklin could be another I know its the replacement of Floyd but "F" storms have been pretty nasty in recent years.

Gert could be another as Gert could of been retired in 1993 after the damages and deaths that happened across Central America. But she keeps on plugging along.

I knew someone named Harvey once and he had ADHD so my thinking is may go with the name.

I'm going with Harvey also. I think he is going to be a really bad boy this year.
