Cloudy skies here also, but more of overcast type. Only mid-level clouds are covering the sky right now....or more specificly...alto stratus, as I can see the moon dimly shining through the clouds. My current temp at 8:20pm is is 48 with DP at 32 and humidity 56%. Baro is holding steady at 29.88. No major wind here as of yet. -- Andy

LOL... I wasn't trying to steal anything from TT... He has gotten this pattern change dead on. It was just the... ONCE AGAIN TT's right... that caught my attention about the NWS waiting til friday... but whatever it really doesn't matter. I probably sounded like a complete jerk in those posts...

Well the wind is howling and the rain is pounding here at 1:10 AM... It's exciting to have some weather... A little while before the rain started it was 48* and cloudy.... In 10 minutes after the rain started falling the temp dropped to 43* and current dew point is 35*...

Well, I'm off to Oregon now. Looks like some moderate winds and moderate rain. Should be fun. I'll post when I get back. :)

We are just getting light rain at the moment. Looking at the radar, it looks like my area is just on the southern fringe of a rain shadow.
Currently 42.8 degrees at 5:40AM

No rain shadow here!!

Just a persistent moderate to heavy rain pounding on the roof. We are already at .45 and should see an impressive rainfall total today.

The latest 06Z run of the GFS is beautiful if you love wave after wave of rain and mountain snow for the foreseeable future.

The pattern change is now complete!!

This is how much rainfall is in the gauge up here so far......0.00"

You will get some rain today... just not nearly as much as places all around you. From Everett to Mount Vernon and over to Port Townsend and Sequim you will curse the Olympics today!!

However... the upper air flow will slowly change to zonal and that should help you out significantly during the upcoming week. In fact... places around the immediate Seattle area will be shadowed at that point. But they will already have received significant rain so it will be time to share the wealth!!

Here in North Bend... we get hit either way. I am expecting at least 5 inches of rain when the week is over.

5 inches is certainly not out of the question for you up in the foothills TT! When ever I am heading over to Moses Lake, I always hit the torrential(sp) downpours around the North Bend area.

WOW!! It hasn't rained this hard in over three months. I was expecting a rainshadow this morning...Usually Lynnwood northward to about Mount Vernon is in the rainshadow...but the flow is more South, southwesterly...so the shadow is further north. We've had almost an inch of rain since midnight. BUT...not much wind at all. We've seen no gusts higher than 20 mph. Though...Bellingham had a gust near 40 mph earlier this morning.

As for the extended, a nice zonal pattern develops Sunday afternoon...abundant mountain snow and cooler-than-normal temperatures. Say goodbye to the sun/warm temperatures for the forseeable future.

OOPS I should have clarified that TT. I meant whenever we are in this type of weather pattern, and are going to Moses Lake, I leave my little rainshadow up here, and get clobbered when I hit your area.

Up to a whopping .01" now in my rain gauge!!

Looks like the rainshadow has moved just a tad north, we are just on the fringe of getting some moderate rain. I am sure the shadow will fluctuate a bit today.

Now up to .02"!!

The moderate/heavy rain is amazingly consistent here.

We are up to .65 and climbing rather fast. Looks fairly windy here as well.

Viewing the latest GFS this morning....it appears by end of this weekend, we`ll being going into a rather nice zonal pattern with cool and very RAINY weather through at least the next couple of weeks. Another cool and unsetteled upper level trough may settel over our area by around the 11th of next month. -- Andy

And the rain keeps coming down...

It's been raining steadily for over six hours. Very impressive. I was expecting a rain shadow for most of this event, but definitely no shadow this time. Looks like R-Dub has it!!

Anyone look at the latest web cams from Snoqualmie and Stevens? Heavy snow. And since the progression of this front is quicker than first expected, it should stay snow for most of the event...it might transition to rain this evening but not for long. I'll make a bold prediction...I say by the end of this coming week, both Stevens and Snoquamlie have three feet of new snow.
