Tornado Watch for Central FL this Morning

URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 75
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
450 AM EST WED MAR 23 2005

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

CENTRAL FLORIDA
COASTAL WATERS

EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 450 AM UNTIL 1100 AM EST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF DAYTONA
BEACH FLORIDA TO 25 MILES EAST OF SARASOTA FLORIDA. FOR A
COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE ASSOCIATED WATCH OUTLINE
UPDATE (WOUS64 KWNS WOU5).

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.
PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING
WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE
WARNINGS.

Getting moderate rain in Apopka, FL now ..just heard a good Thunder Boom

nice radar Ed1 , I saw a killer lightning show around 3:30pm driving near the 436 and 434 intersection in Altamonte Florida. Nice gust front too. My guess would be positive bolts jumping ahead of the heavy rain. They also looked very powerful. Multiple discharges, could have gotten a daytime lightning photo very easily if you were ready.

I saw some good lightning strikes off in the northern horizon fom me.

Here is some of the edge approaching my area.
