My weather radio is in alert-standby mode 24/7/365 ready to trigger anything from a national emergency to a tornado warning to an Amber Alert.
With the Internet and being able to find the information on the weather radio and then some, I don't listen to it as much as I used to.
But, again, it is ready for action when NWR SAME codes come calling!

I don't have one anymore, but my alarm clock used to be set to it, and I would sometimes listen for HOURS daily, especially when a new forecast, discussion or warning would come out!
I'm not quite the loser I was then - but that's because I didn't have access to internet at the time. Now I stare at computer screens all day.
