I would not call Black Diamond a bustling city!! And Enumclaw is quite some distance on two-lane roads away from the Seattle area.

Too remote for me. And I am not a city person!!

Trust me... there are some "interesting" people up there.

While that method may work for viewing the pictures on your computer, it does not work on anyone else's computer. Use the method of hosting the pictures and copying and pasting the URL into a post as described in my post above.

I know, I was just saying that it is a place where you can see signs of life and shopping areas are only a few miles on two-lane roads away. :P

Next time I go up to our cabin in Oregon, I will take some pictures and post them here. Then, you will realize how remote you can get (as well as the interesting people surrounding the area). :D

My snowjump down below from the top of my zipline in a tree... When it snowed in january it was awesome. We measured my 100 pound cousin getting 14 feet length and 3 1/2 feet of air off of that thing. Don't worry we had 4 inch foam pads under our butts. Doesn't seem possible for a sled jump but when you have a good plastic sled it works like a charm...

Sorry for my boring pics of my yard and stuff... i will start posting weather pics now that i know how...And TT i'll show you those FROSTY PICS OF FEBRUARY when you were calling my place a microclimate... the grass is 100% white... I'll post them tomorrow

Wow! I did not know that Palmer has cinnabar. Very interesting...

I agree with you TT...the area where you live, at 1100 feet, probably did get a lot of snow prior to 1975. One situation where Palmer will outperform North Bend in getting snow, is when a low tracks across southern WA and cold air is already in place. It is right up against the mountains, so it gets the great orographics like you get, also. Yet another thing it has in common with North Bend is the strong outflow winds. Even the January cold spell had howling winds and blowing / drifting snow up there! It is pretty sparse population out there, but that suits me fine. I aim to stay away from the "white trash" neighborhoods. By the way...the eastern higher elevation area of North Bend is on my short list of places to move.

Hey snow-wizzard....with the lifted index being near 0 tomorrow, strong 850MB winds of 40 - 50+ knots from the West, and SW, 500MB temp near -32C with winds roughly west winds at 60+ knots with heights of around 540DM.....do you think there`s any good possibilties of thunder showers tomorrow afternoon and after the passage of the cold front? Sure hope so!:) -- Andy

Another place you might consider snow_wizzard is Rockport. It is east of Concrete, and I believe just inside Skagit County. It has 102 residents according to the following link:

http://www.idcide.com/citydata/wa/rockport.htm

Rockport is probably like Diablo in terms of being so far East and elevation wise, as when looked at on a map are lined up pretty well North to South (Diablo is about 20 miles more east than Rockport).

Overall, it sounds like a neat place to live. 8-)

Hey Brennan.....fabolous photos! I like your yard and tree house....very cool to see that! Also....ever use that snow jump as a 'bike jump' during the summer? That would be neat to see you getting some 'air' when making that jump. -- Andy

That hosting site works great.

Here is the townhouse complex we are living in now until our house is done... this is the snowstorm on Janaury 15th.

Your new house looks pretty nice. Is it in the town or North Bend or east of there?

A couple weeks ago we took a drive out to Snoqualmie Falls and on the way there, we drove through the city of Snoqualmie and the areas that surround it. It is amazing how it has been built-up out there. Houses and townhouses every which-way you looked. It sure didn't look that way a few years ago. :P
